Privacy at the CS2 skin viewer

Last updated 11 October 2026

SkinsViewer is a free CS2 skin viewer and sticker craft builder. It has no accounts and no sign-in, so we never know who you are. This page says what the site keeps, what it sends to others, and why.

Your crafts

A craft lives in its share link: the skin, wear, seed and stickers are written into the address itself. We do not store your crafts. When a shared link is opened, our server reads the craft from the address and builds its preview image, which it keeps for a while as a cache so the next visit loads faster. The image holds the craft and nothing about you.

Recent crafts are kept in your own browser's storage on your device. They never reach our servers, and clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Server logs

Like most websites, our servers record each request: the address asked for, the time, your IP address and your browser's user agent. We use these logs to keep the site secure, to stop abuse and to fix errors, and we delete them after a limited time. To keep preview images from being overused, the server also counts recent image requests per IP address in memory for a minute; that count is never written down.

The site runs behind Cloudflare, which carries every request to us, protects the site from attacks and tells us the country a request comes from. We use the country only to decide whether to ask for your consent before analytics, as described below.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages and tools people use, so we know what to improve. It counts page views and a few actions: opening a skin, adding a sticker, copying an export, sharing a craft, which viewer was used and a refused import. These events carry item ids, never your name, a craft link or anything you typed. Advertising features are always off.

In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Turkey and Brazil, and whenever your country is unknown, Google Analytics does not load at all until you choose Accept. Elsewhere it may load before you choose, in a mode that sets no cookies, and it sets its cookies only once you accept.

The cookies involved are:

  • sv_consent, our own cookie, holds your Accept or Reject choice for six months so we do not ask on every page. It is the only record of your choice; we keep none on our servers.
  • _ga and _ga_ followed by an id, set by Google Analytics only after you accept, tell one visit from the next. They last up to two years, and choosing Reject later deletes them.

You can change your choice at any time.

Error reports

When a page or our server runs into an error, a report goes to Sentry, an error monitoring service, so we can find and fix it. A report holds the error, the page it happened on, your browser and device type, and the last few things the page did before it, such as pages opened and buttons pressed. It holds no cookie, no account and nothing you typed, and it records no IP address, although Sentry sees the address your browser sends the report from. Error reports set no cookies and do not depend on your analytics choice.

Images, prices and fonts

Item images come from Steam through our own server, and prices come from public market price feeds that our server reads on a schedule, so your browser does not contact Steam or the price sources. Our font is served from our own server too.

Changes

When what the site keeps changes, we update this page and its date. If the change touches analytics, we ask for your choice again.
