CS2 charms: where they hang, patterns and prices

A charm is a small model that hangs from a CS2 gun. Here is which guns take one, where it hangs, what its pattern number does, how SkinsViewer prices it, and how to try one on any skin in 3D before you buy it.

What a charm is

Charms are CS2 items you attach to a gun. Every gun takes one charm, and only one: rifles, pistols, SMGs, heavy guns and the Zeus x27 all have room for it. Knives and gloves take none.

Where a charm hangs

Each gun has one attach point for a charm, set on its model in the game files, and the charm always hangs from that point. In the SkinsViewer builder the charm hangs from the same point, swings a little as you turn the view and then settles. With reduced motion turned on in your system, it hangs still.

Pattern numbers

Every charm carries a pattern number from 0 to 99999. The game reads it as a fraction, the pattern divided by 100000, and on many charms that fraction changes the look. On these three the colour changes, so a rare pattern can sell above the price shown here, which is the price of the charm by name, whatever its pattern.

The pattern number travels in the share link, so a craft you share opens with the same charm and the same pattern.

What a charm adds to a craft

SkinsViewer prices a charm at its aggregated market price by name and adds it to the craft's cost. In Cost of parts the charm is its own line, next to the skin and the stickers, and it counts in the total. A charm with no price shows "no price" and marks the total incomplete, like any other part. Crafts in the gallery can carry a charm too, and their cost of parts includes it.

The share link carries the charm and its pattern, so anyone who opens it sees the same craft. The inspect link carries them too, with the charm at the weapon's default point. The gen command leaves the charm out, since its syntax has no place for the pattern, and the export says so. More on both in the guides to inspect links and gen commands.

Try a charm on any skin

Open a gun skin, pick a charm in the builder, and it hangs on the weapon in 3D. Set the pattern number, turn the view, and share the link when you like it. Start with one of these:

Add a charm in the builder

Or pick any gun and skin.
